Big News

So, I haven't spoken about this here, but here goes... I am pregnant again! A very unexpected blessing in our home that has brought about a lot of emotions. Fear, excitement, nervousness, happiness, feelings of inadequacy, joy, relief that God has it all in his hands. I know for certain that I could not mother 5 children successfully on my own. Thankfully I don't have to. My God will supply all my needs. And as we learned watching the new Veggie Tales movie, The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything, when God asks us to do something, He provides everything we need to be successful.
Thankfully, because as I started to think about having another child the fear became almost instantly overwhelming. How can I possibly do this again? I often feel like I am barely treading water as it is. But that is usually because I am trying to rely on my own strength instead of asking God for help. As I have prayed over the past weeks, I have started to be able to rest in Him. Knowing that I am in God's hands and I don't have to do anything alone.
As my good friend reminded me yesterday:
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

Oh I have something else to be excited about! One of my girlfriends (who isn't telling she is preggo yet, but isn't a blogger) is due the same week as me! She was not planning on any more kids either, but I think we are both excited to have a belly buddy. Someone who we can complain to that none of our pants fit already, but we are not far enough along for maternity clothes. I am gonna get so fat this time, I can tell already. ugh.

Oh, I am due the first week of September. And although my kids are super excited about the baby, my 10 year old is not excited that he will have to share his birthday month. The baby is actually due on his birthday.

  6. Congratulations honey, September is a great month to have a baby....the Princess was due in September but she stubbornly held out an extra 10 days until October 1st. But the good thing is it's still warm enough to wear flip flops on your swollen feet, right up to the end!

  7. YAY! I could almost NOT keep this secret anymore lol.
I am so excited for you and I know you can do it, with HIS help of course.

I am starting to feel those pangs again. I'm sorry there will be no more surprises for us. We'll have to come and squeeze your bundle. I'll be praying for his/her safe arrival:)
    Love you bunches!

  10. Oh wow! Congrats! I think you are taking a wonderfully positive approach. As I heard from several moms of larger families (in our church and within our own family)--with God's help and with God's grace--you just do it.

You are an awesome mom and that is one lucky baby! (Oh, and I'm not just saying that--I've read several upon several of your posts and feel like I can say that with some level of authority).

  12. WOW Congratulations!!!! I'm very excited to hear about new babies! I know it can be scary, but I totally believe that everything happens for a reason. Alexis was a "surprise" baby and I really couldn't imagine how I would do it (I was 40 when she was born) - and .... she ended up and still is the one of the best things that has ever happened in my life - what a blessing and God gave me the strength and patience to deal with another child and she is such a JOY. I'm very happy for you and that you are also going to have a friend to share the experience with - very cool!! Take care - Kellan

  17. I was in the middle of leaving a big comment and my computer died.

I was missing Suzie being a baby the other day and just about had a panic attack at the thought of ever being pregnant again.

I understand how you feel but you seem to be on the right mind set. God knows what He is doing and is blessing you.

I LOoove the Veggie Tales. I havent seen the pirates movie yet but I want to
