Waahhh, wah, wah

Thought I would pop in here to share how utterly ridiculous I am. I am sitting here trying to get some stuff done and literally crying because I am so tired. I am not sleeping that well, but I think the exhaustion has more to do with this pregnancy than anything. (Apparently placenta praevia comes with extra exhaustion) Anytime I try to do anything, like go downstairs to wash a load of laundry; or walk to the other room to get the phone; or sit upright for more than half an hour, I feel like laying down, having a good cry and then a nap.
I am so frustrated, because there is so much to be done around here and I honestly can not do it. I feel utterly lame and guilty at my lack of energy and gumption. And I am getting really grumpy about what is not getting done.
I know, I know, there is no point being upset and frustrated. I just need to accept my limitations at this moment and let go. I KNOW! I just want to grump about it for tonight
Ahh.... I feel better already. Venting is therapeutic, don't ya think?

Brent is working in the yard this evening, but he just took all the kids for ice cream. I can't tell you the relief I feel with them all out of the house for a few moments. I love them all to pieces. I love spending my days with them, but a few moments of peace in my day is heaven. I am actually dreading them coming home, I am having a difficult time dealing with all the chaos these days. If I am lucky, Daddy will get them right into bed when they get back. Then I shall go to bed too.

  1. aw sweetie...I understand!
I'm not preggo and I feel the same way. Can you ask someone for help? This in NOT something I'm good at but man sometime, you just need it.

I had a friend who had 4 kids in 5 years and she used to phone people and ASK FOR HELP. I was always in awe of this and a bit jealous.

I wish I lived closer! I wish I could just get on a plane. Hugs! and the laundry will wait so have a nap:)

  2. Bottom line is to look after yourself...the better you feel the better you can care for your children - those with you now and that little bean you are growing.

Take care of yourself. TRY. PLEASE.

    HUGS!

  3. I hope you did go straight to bed....it is what you NEED to do. None of the other stuff really needs to be done.

  7. I hope you have a "real-life friend" that is reading your blog and gathers a bunch of friends to swoop in and do some cleaning, cooking and laundry. Hint, hint RLF's.

We all need a hand sometimes.

  8. You need to figure out a way to get all of the kids out of the house every day if possible. Seriously. Can you find some friends or family to take them on a rotating basis? I know it is hard to ask for help, but this is important for your physical and mental health, as well as the baby.

I can only imagine how exhausted you are. You are not whining- you are just expressing reality.

  12. I am sorry you are so tired. I remember being so exhausted early in my pregnancy with Little Elvis and thinking to myself, "what will I do during the next pregnancy while he is running everywhere?" It's great that your husband gave you a break this weekend!

  15. Totally remember those days from my son's pregnancy. I hope it gets better. is there anyone who can help you around the house to take some of the load off?

  16. Any room in the budget for a housekeeper every once in a while? Tell your mom and husband and every friend you have that it is what you want for your birthday and Christmas and you want it NOW. Let somebody else wash the clothes and clean the toilets. For not a lot of money it can change everything. Skip nights out for a month. Or whatever ...just let somebody take a load off you for one day. And do not clean before she comes either. Make a list of the chores you wish would magically get done and hand them to her and take a bath. Baths can cure almost anything...

  17. Im so sorry for you. Being pregnant in itself can sometimes be depressing- Im sure your situation doesn't make it any easier.

Have you asked the Dr for any suggestions for you?

Just remember- Relax, you will have plenty of time to clean your house when your kids are grown (but then again, your house probably wont be as dirty either)

  18. Glad you got that break...hope you can get many more!

Hang in there. Pregnancy does so much to your body and your emotions. It will get done...just not today. That's my new mantra these days with working f/t.
