Social Butterfly

I have been going a bit stir crazy here. I tend to cocoon at home and when I am tired and/or blue. Right when I need other people the most, I tend to hide out and isolate myself. I know that I need to get out of the house, outside in the fresh air and out to socialize with friends. So this week, I took the reigns and have made play dates and coffee dates to get me out.

Yesterday morning we went to the playground with a sweetheart of a friend and her little boy. She heard my pleas for sugar and fat and brought me pie! I had pie and cheese and tea for lunch, yummy. Thanks Carol! This morning I went for coffee with an old friend and her new baby boy. I had a starbucks' banana bread with my latte, terrific breakfast. We swapped birth stories and got all caught up, I so needed that girl time. Afterward I did a little window shopping before picking up the kids and running some errands with a mickey-d's stop for lunch. I even managed to take the kids to the playground this afternoon and ran into a neighbour.

I feel so much better after commiserating with friends and enjoying the unseasonably warm temperatures outdoors. I miss my friends, all summer I was in a bit of a funk and really not feeling all that sociable. Now, even though I am in post-natal fog, and probably not that interesting a conversationalist, I NEED to be around people. So much. Wanna come and visit?

  4. I am not, by nature, a social person. But, there is something about being with my girlfriends that makes me feel good.

  8. You're very far away, aren't you? Dang. I'd come visit if going to Canada wasn't the equivalent of going to the moon right now. So cyber-visits are all I got. Hugs!

  9. Good thing I read your blog religiously. Last night at your mom's house Ang and your Mom both said they hadn't talk to you in a while and would have to call you. I told them I agreed they'd have to call but gave them a quick update. I'm now referred to as the cyber-stalker. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  14. I'd love to come visit...if only I could figure out a way to smuggle my little monkeys across that border.

Glad you're getting out. I tend to do the same thing-isolate myself when I need to be around people most-so I love that you're scheduling things and getting out there.
