Remembrance Day
Today is October 15, National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day in the United States. Here in Canada we are in trying to have our government recognize October as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month too.
Most of us know someone who has been touched by the loss of a much wanted baby, so today please let them know that you are thinking of them.

Thank you for the heads up. I have a friend who carried nearly to term and, due to hospital and staff negligence, lost her only child. She was never brave enough to try again. It's marked her life. I'll be sure to let her know, if she doesn't already.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea, Kristen! How are you doing, Sweetie? Thanks for stopping by and saying hi!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe your sweet boy is a month old already! Where does time go? I hope you are doing well and he continues to bring JOY to your lives!

Hi, how are you and the new baby? I know you have been a busy Mama! Thanks for stopping by and thanks for posting such a caring and thoughtful post.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I missed this yesterday. Yours is the third blog today I've seen this on. I did this last year, and would have loved to have been a part of it this year as well.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be a general misconception circulating regarding October 15th Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day in Canada. I am posting this to clarify and raise awareness about Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance in Canada, and hope the larger community will join me in clearing up this misconception as well. New Brunswick is currently the only province in Canada to declare October 15th as being Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. The Canadian Foundation for October 15th Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day exist to ensure that all Canadian families who experience the loss of a child during pregnancy or shortly after birth have a official day of observation; to raise awareness and unite families who have loss children during pregnancy or shortly after birth, that day being October 15th of each year. Please join me in passing the message along so we may clarify this common misconception and unite the community in raising pregnancy and infant loss awareness together. You can help by joining the Canadian Foundation for October 15th and spread the word about pregnancy and infant loss in Canada.
