Why my blood pressure was high at my OB appointment today:

The wall we took out last fall.

The wall we took out this weekend.

The closet we took out this weekend.

The kitchen entryway we widened this weekend.

The live, unconnected to anything wire that I have asked my dh to turn the power off to repeatedly, also the one he snipped thinking it was disconnected, but wasn't.

Monkey's room waiting to be painted.

The big boys room waiting for more paint (see where Girly took a hammer to the wall, (above the boat sail) after Daddy had already done 2 coats).

  1. Holy cow! Yes, I thought we were enterprising by trying to finish a basement this month - you've got me beat! Wow! But it'll be fantastic when it's done.

My BP has been high too - were they all freaked out?

  2. oh i so feel your pain! We never do any major remodeling until i'm at least 6 months pregnant, then with just a few months to go, we gut the entire downstairs leaving nothing but rubble, taking out walls and floors, moving the kitchen to the other side of the house, and living in three bedrooms and a bathroom for three months...take a deep breath, it will pass...and eventually be pretty too!

  3. I am SOOOO glad to find another family that starts too many projects at one time and finds it difficult to finish them. In my house, projects have to "age" until just the right moment to finish them. Amazingly, that typically corresponds with vast numbers of people scheduled to desend on our house for a weekend or some other stressful event. I've been stripping wallpaper from our half bath (HALF, I tell you; the smallest room in the house) for 6 months.

Love the blog; I'll be back.

  6. Hugs....that is all I can do/say and send. Hang in there...wow - that is lots of construction!

2 of my 3 were born at least 21 days early...I could not imagine starting renos while preggers. Kudos to you...hang in there. Our bedroom for #2 and the bedroom re-decorate the boys when expecting the girly all happened AFTER the births...so, remember, things do not need to be all completed...
