Afternoon laugh break
I hear a cacophony of Canadian Geese outside of my window right now. That is the only word for it, cacophony. Man I love saying that...
The sound reminds me that even though the day is mild, the winter is well on it's way.
The other day, as I drove through the magical, super saturated light that only touches us before the sun sets (and all afternoon in these northern autumn days), I saw a large gaggle of geese flying overhead. I pointed out their distinctive v-formation to my gaggle of kids in the backseats, "Look at the gee......... what the?!" And then I laughed and turned on the windshield wipers. Goose poops all over the window. Nice.
I am thankful today for little moments that lighten my days, for remembering to step back, gain perspective and laugh rather than get upset or yell at my kids. There have been so many overwhelming moments lately, so many where I could just give into my coarser nature, so many where I have. But I am trying. And therefore discovering the smiles in the rain, the laughter in the storms. I hope you find some laughter in your today.

Laughter and hugs are always the best medicine. Hang in there. Life can seem over whelming...but really, it is the love of family that blankets us and helps us through. You are a wonderful mom and friend and blogger...you are already wonderful...no need to be SUPER...take care of yourself my dear friend and always stop to hear the laughter - it is always there, just a bit obstructed at times. HUGS!
ReplyDeleteLaughter is truly the best medicine.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great reminder! The great thing about little ones is that they do something incredibly cute or funny at least once a day, so Little Elvis always manages to make me laugh each day.
ReplyDeleteHope you guys have a great week!
Your geese are coming HERE! I love them! Thanks so much for sending them our way. :) It's truly fall when the first ones start to show up. And sit on our roof tops and honk at each other for hours. And land in our yards and poop. But they're beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteHope tomorrow brings more laughter. Have you come to my blog today for your Monday laugh?
I can't think of a time when a good laugh didn't make everything suddenly seem so much better. It truly is a gift.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying you have lots more laughter and lighter moments in the days ahead.
I got pelted by a gaggle of geese once. Sounded like rain on my roof.
ReplyDeleteHope you got it cleaned off
We laugh in our house every day...usually at each other!
ReplyDeletethanks Kristen, I need that reminder some days too.

This has definitely been a day with more goose poop than goose love! So it's especially good to get this gently reminder.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I am also trying to find more humor and laughter in every day! Sometimes - it is not easy.
ReplyDeleteHave a good evening - Kellan
