Time off!

I am taking the week off.
It is the school kids spring break and I am gonna give my kids the week off too.
I have been feeling so burnt out and like I am floundering without direction. Especially when it comes to my kids' education. I need to regroup.
There are so many things here that require my attention and I feel like none of them are getting what they deserve. It is overwhelming and oppressive to my spirit.

This week I am going to go over a number of schooling options and plan out the rest of their year and get a good grip on next year. I am going to order the things I need for school that I keep putting off buying. I am going to catch up on marking.

In my home, I am going to wash my windows so that I can have a clear view of the world. I think that is the number one chore I can do to give me a better outlook and a clear vision. I also want to get a good start on spring cleaning and to continue purging.

For my children, I want to spend a week without nagging. I want them to go outside and have the sunlight warm their lovely faces. I want to have fun with them. I will take each of them for a little one on one time with mommy and hopefully get in a fieldtrip or two.

I am firstly going to continue to pray on these things and get back in the habit of devotional time, time to refresh the spirit and gird myself for the day ahead.
Maybe I will even spend some time doing things I love, like scrapbooking, writing and reading. Maybe.
Happy Monday!

  5. I know exactly where you're at! I took two weeks off and they are done boo hoo:( I read books, had people over, cleaned my house and tried to get some perspective on the homeschooling. I feel like I'd like a couple more!

Bless you as you do this.

  8. Everyone needs a break now and then- good for you! I love it when I can give my kids a little time to truly run free and be kids without any thoughts of schoolwork. That's what childhood should be- at least every once in awhile!

Yes, a week without nagging... that would be lovely.

  15. Spring Break...just the words are filled with promise. But don't give yourself so much to do that you feel oeverwhelmed by the break activities.
Take a hot bath or two and sit outside with those kids in that warm sunshine and Just Be. Don't do...
    Happy Spring....

  17. Can your kids go outside and feel sunlight on their faces? Mine can't. And this has a lot to do with my outlook, Kristen. It has been raining for three days and although the forecast said we might have a little sunshine on Thursday, other than that it will be gray, stormy, and in the 40s all week. I admire your determination to clean your windows. What a great idea. For me, cleaning my windows would mean seeing the dreariness more clearly. I'm so sorry for being so down. It's spring break for the school kids here too. Can you imagine going somewhere warm and sunny? My husband is in Las Vegas for 7 days...he left Saturday and gets back Saturday. The weather there is warm and sunny. It's hard, as you know, to be in the house day after day with kids, and no one can even go outside. I hope that you have sunny weather and get a lot on your list accomplished! I hope it is refreshing for you, and for all of the family, friend!
